A ground source heat network for 235 new homes on the former Michaelston College site in Cardiff, for Wates and Cardiff Council.

Michaelston is a development of 235 new homes by Wates and Cardiff Council on the former Michaelston College site in Cardiff.

Instead of a gas boiler or a heat pump in every home, central ground source heat pump plant serves the whole development. The boreholes sit in green and open space, away from roads, drainage and SuDS features. Insulated pipes carry heat to a compact heat interface unit in each home, about the size of a gas boiler, so no heat pump or hot water cylinder is needed inside the home.

We are designing and building the network.
