Our first Geo Flow home with Barratt Redrow: heating, hot water and cooling from the ground, with solar panels and a battery, all run by our Flow controller.
Barratt Redrow's technical innovation team chose a new home on its development at Tutbury, near Burton upon Trent, to trial Geo Flow with us. It shows the whole package we can offer in one home: a ground source heat pump with cooling, solar panels, a battery, and our own controls running them together.
We drilled the borehole in the garden in July 2026. Inside, our compact ground source heat pump provides heating and hot water, and fan coil units in the main rooms heat the home in winter and cool it in summer. There is no outdoor heat pump unit.
Solar panels on the roof feed our battery and inverter. Our Flow controller runs the heat pump, solar panels and battery as one system, deciding when to use the home's own solar power, when to store it and when to draw from the grid, and the homeowner sets everything from the Flow app.
The heat pump goes in this winter and the home is due to be finished in early 2027. It gives Barratt Redrow a working home to show its own teams and buyers what living in a Geo Flow home is like, including through a summer.
